MASKED MEMORIES
Masked Memories is a series of three photos that reflect on the Coronavirus pandemic that began in late 2019. The project pulls inspiration from artist Julie Cockburn, using both found photographs and embroidery to create a new image. The found image features portraits of myself, taken by my sister with her film camera, and an emboidered surgical mask covering the bottom of my face. The project reimagines the memories in a different context, creating a fictional narrative and seeing the past in a more current context.
